The sewing club maintains a sewing studio in the Mountain View clubhouse for use by members. Membership is open to all residents and renters who have a current ID card. We sew personal projects as well as items to sell at the Sun City Arts and Crafts Show which is held twice a year. The sewing studio has large tables for laying out fabric and patterns, a large cutting table, Bernina sewing machines, a serger with an air thread feature, an embroidery machine (yes, really) and a robust selection of sewing tools and supplies, all of which are available for our members to use.
FUN!
Why join anything if it is not fun? Having a good time is what we are about. If you don’t know how to sew, come join us and we will teach you. If you know how to sew but don’t have a machine, come join us and use a machine in the studio. Know how to sew and have your own machine…still come join us. As an experienced sewist you’ve spent enough hours sewing alone that you know it is more fun to sew while chatting with friends. Don’t want to sew – come join us and cut out projects for the club to sew for the sale. Want to share your sewing knowledge with others, please come teach a project for our members. There is always something to do and you won’t get bored. Join us and have a great time.
One of our members joined because she said all the sewists she knew were calm people. We are calm because we know that there is almost nothing in sewing that a seam ripper cannot fix. Another member went home after her first time with us and her husband told her she must have found her people because she came home very happy. Join us and be calm and happy!
Studio Hours
- Mondays from 11:30 am to 4 pm – drop in any time
- Thursdays from 10 am to 4 pm – drop in any time
- First Saturday of each month – by appointment
Events
The third Thursday of each month is a project day. Members come together to work on the same project to learn new skills or to work on projects for the club to sell.
The fourth Thursday of each month is a potluck to celebrate our members who’ve had birthdays that month.
Most Thursdays our members bring lunch (pack their own or get take out from the Daily Grind or Cali Cafe both of which are short walks front the studio) and spend time catching up and sharing ideas over lunch.

Please print the form and complete it. Once completed, please drop the membership form and your dues at the sewing studio when we are open on Mondays and Thursdays.
